Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My boss hosts a safety razor convention every year.

I am not even joking.

I think there's less shenanigans there than at a roller derby convention or a tiki oasis.

Now tagless for your comfort.

The Black & Blue Ball is like a Roman Bacchanalia.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

When I got my driver's license renewed about 15 years ago and had to go to the DMV, I took a book with me.

I nearly finished that book during the time I was waiting for my 5 minute appointment. IN-SANE.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Allyson, fantastic car! You don't need to dress better or lose weight to drive it, all you need is a tattoo and a mad gleam in your eyes.

Congrats on employment, Tom!

msbelle, better job ~ma.

I can't believe it's 1:30 already. I've accomplished almost nothing today. Motivation is nil.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My day thus far:

helping someone with 2 basic elements of doing an expense report
moving 2 meetings around on boss's calendar
getting someone's conference call code for boss
attending previously mentioned HR de-motivation meeting
going to get lunch for 2 bosses
ordering lunch for a meeting tomorrow
ordering breakfasts and lunches for meetings Wed & Thur
coding receipt charge for lunch from last Wed's lunch
answering a couple of emails, one of which was committing to cover front reception from 1-2

so hey - that is in 10 min and I haven't eaten yet, so lunch for me may not even happen today, despite my day being all foodcentric.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

first call/email will be to the firm that placed me here.

Smart. If nothing else, they should know.

I just interviewed a person who just graduated from college in May! Cute.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I interview Owen about his first non-stop motion lego movie. [link]

Fun! Did you get the email I sent you with a contact for voice-over help? Or it may have been a FB message.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

sending gun nuts into the 'hood would be a "Survivor" I would never stop watching. Stories like that always remind me of this story Gavin De Becker, my security boyfriend, tells in one of his books. He was in Texas, testifying against some new rule that would allow people Guns At All Times or something, so at lunch break, he asked "Why do you want this so badly?"

They said "You know...gotta be prepared."

"Statistically, given that food allergies and choking are more common than gun violence...guess that means you have an epi-pen and a tracheotomy kit with you, too, right?"

And they said "Ew...I don't want the responsibility for that."
