Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

"brackets" without a qualifier is ambiguous between () and [].

Interesting- for me "brackets" without qualifier is semi ambigious between [] and {}.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

() are brackets, and [] are square brackets, and {} are curly brackets. Parentheses are too much trouble.

My boss left me on hold for twenty minutes from Minnesota. I can't lie, I made the "terribly busy" mime to one person I didn't want to speak to, but I ditched everything for another.

I'm not posting this in the fanfic thread, because it's not a discussion, it's just an opportunity to eyeroll: [link] But, then again, if you got the chance to monetize the "salacious" fanfic concept while pretending you just thought of it, who cares about...it's not even integrity at this point. Cash those fucking cheques and smile.

ita, I am pretty sure that calling () parentheses not brackets was something I had to learn in school. But my parents were Newfoundlanders and are all funny with their language.

In better news, I am super excited about Downton Abbey getting all the Emmy nominations! It's the only broadcast show nominated for Drama Series AND has at least one person in all of the acting categories!

I was excited too, even though I thought series 2 was a hot mess. Really mostly excited for Michelle Dockery, because I am always wowed by her acting.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Slowly working my way through a large number of Top Gear eps on my DVR.(They date back to last February.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You guys! You know I sort of believe in signs, right? So I walked up to the vet's office to pick up Homer, and there was a BOX OF BOXES outside! And I took it! And walked the half-mile home with my cat and the boxes and now my arms are shakey.

I was excited too, even though I thought series 2 was a hot mess.

Absolutely.

brillig

In an amusing callback to my earlier post, the guy I was talking to got lost while trying to find a network drive and went to find the girl (who may be my age but sounds young) who "knows all the computer stuff."

Not, of course, that guys don't know this stuff etc.

Also superexcited that Schmidt from New Girl got nominated. He's the only thing that I really like about the show.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Did you put him in the boxes? Because in my head you did, and it's very funny.

And I'm pretty sure that is 100% a sign.

It would have been funny, but no, I just slung him over my shoulder. In his carrier. I was quite a sight.

Also, that post now has almost 5,600 notes. And we are over 200 followers! WOOT.

Because books.

A box of boxes is awesome! Although when you said you slung Homer over your shoulder, I was picturing Jesse the Shepherd. Then I got to the carrier part, and it was almost disappointing.
