Because books.

Seriously? I never heard that, but I've also never been to one. I don't think they have them on the East Coast. Or maybe there was one in NYC? I can't remember.

I meant to say, the Sunday thing doesn't strike me as weird because growing up nothing was open on Sunday, and most stores were only open Thursday evenings. And nothing was open as late as stores are now.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph, if no one was home and the fridge was never opened, it should be fine. I would just sniff stuff like milk before using it.

I was home, but only opened the fridge twice, really quickly, to get the pet food out and then put it back in after I fed the pets. When the power came back on, I felt the milk carton (a plastic gallon jug, half-full), and it was still cool.

I'm not worried about the freezer stuff; the ice cream might be soupy, but it'll re-freeze. We don't have slabs of raw meat in the freezer, so anything that might have thawed a little bit is bread, veggies, or ice cream. It'll all re-freeze and be fine.

I'll sniff the milk, though. You think eggs are fine?

Because books.

The eggs will absolutely be fine, yeah.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Nope. In-N-Out is definitely not on the east coast. The bible verse is not really the verse itself, just Book, Chapter, and Verse references. [link] They are one of the best fast food companies to work for in terms of wages and benefits. Plus there is a whole family tragedy story and they are still family-owned.

There are Chick Fil A's only in 4 locations, all standalones, in so-cal.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Steph, eggs are totally fine. Fresh ones don't even need refrigeration, I know from a former roommate.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't like mayo in my burgers.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I tried Chik Fil A once just to see what the fuss was about. Pass. The only fast food I get with any frequency is Wow Bao. Please don't give me a reason to boycott them.

Zankou is my chicken crack of choice. Do not fuck with me, Zankou, please.

Shit, I should have eaten dinner before the headache got this bad. I should have written the status report before the headache got this bad.

Well, I will hydrate, and I have some graham crackers lurking somewhere. And I will inhale Ambien, and bed. Thank god I can't really work out how to read email properly on this new computer. I might get to bed earlier.

This is an interesting way to confront the issues. [link]

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Mmm, In-N-Out Burger.

Also? Something wet is falling from the sky. It is confusing me and scaring the dog.
