do you ever think the bitter will just eat you inside out?
No, because I think if it's gotten to that point, depression will have dragged me down first.

Dag, we're glum.
Except, I'm not embittered.
It helps that my expectations hinge on modest things like Emmett getting 4 B's on his report card.
I'm embarrassingly happy with my life. Which is not to say I don't still yearn for more for others. But for myself? I am content.
I'm embarrassingly happy with my life.
Don't be embarrassed about that!
It's not like it's been a stress-free year, for you either.
Oh for sure. Last year was more challenging than I wanted. And I struggle with the not having kids thing occasionally. But I know I've got it pretty damned good. And I don't take it for granted.
I decided awhile ago that bitterness was a waste of my time. there are many many things in this world that make absolutely no fucking sense , but if I dwell on those things I would never have any fun. and i don't have the time to waste on things I can do little about. I will fight for anything and everything if I can find a toe hold (that is why I am heading to the capitol on the 28th) but if I sit around being bitter - I become immobile
I'm not in the bitter zone anymore (I'm in the stressed-out zone, which isn't fun but it's easier on me than the bitter is), I'm just saying I know how it feels and it feels like it's gonna eat you up until there's nothing left but the bitter parts. But then it doesn't happen that way.
I have an embarrassment of riches. It's not 100% perfect but I'm pretty fucking lucky.
The town is preparing for the big annual Trivia contest. It starts Friday and runs for 54 hours straight. My team is ready . Then next week, we have a derby bout in Eau Claire. I should really make a stop while I'm there.
Oh yeah. Bitter or not, I've been pretty fricking lucky.
Skipping yet again (is a daily skip anything like a skim?) because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is beth b's birthday.
Happy birthday, beth! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
