The SO has a concert in Bright, IN, Saturday night, and I am considering coming out earlier, especially if I have a chance to hang out with Cinci peeps beforehand. I know it's late notice, but is anyone going to be around that might have time to get together?
I think Tim and I will be around until maybe 5 or so on Saturday.

But, really, Joss didn't have his vampires do that as a normal power. That was something Dru was working. They do it all the time on Vampire Diaries. And True Blood.

Dracula could do some kind of mind control whammy, so I think it's fair game as a generic vampire power. Easy to overdo, though.
