Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

I spoiled myself for the end of Gone Girl and I kind of don't care. It was compelling for a bit in the middle and now I don't feel compelled to finish it. Is this a function of reading it on a Nook? I'm so much less tolerant of stupid shit on the nook than in print.

It's not that hot here right now BUT the humidity is at 82% so it is pretty damn disgusting outside.

Hmmm...WRT Tom's link, I don't think the movie would do well enough to compel the reboot. But I'm cynical like that. It seems like Hollywood hot air.

shrift, that sounds awful. We have 50% humidity here now and it's unusual. It rained last night (which put a damper on Occupy LA's Chalk protest).

Kat, I feel your pain. I think most of my upstairs is fairly recent, but fairly basic and not enough. I *think* I've figured out the circuitry such that I can vacuum or dry my hair (not activities I pursue at the same time) AND still have a/c. But one of these days, I do think I will get an electrician to come in and put in a dedicated line for a/c in each room ONLY. And a lot more circuits/outlets in general. It might be something worth pursuing, even if it is a rental. The circuits for the washer and dryer and outside outlets were pretty reasonable. That and a better unit. I coveted my ex-neighbor's skinny window unit, it was the same BTU as my bedroom one (whereas my skinny window one is just small and barely able to help much.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Holy shit.

I don't believe it. Sounds like Comic Con jacked up say anything-ness.

However, the guy who wrote and directed the third biggest movie in history probably has more leverage than he's ever had and I know Firefly is the wound that will never be healed.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Holy shit.

Wait, what? I feel like a transcript would make more sense. Everything else I've seen about the panel mentioned more comics and joking about a radio show, but nothing about a reboot.

the humidity is at 82%

Is it really? It doesn't seem quite that sticky.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. I don't know that a Firefly today would be any more successful than it was a decade ago.

The fanbase is bigger now than it was during the series, but I don't know that it's any bigger than it was for Serenity.

I did finally get my dad to watch the Firefly DVDs I gave him years ago. Now he's decided to look for the movie.
