Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When are you moving, Jesse?

August 3, I hope. If not, August 1.

It is freaking hot here. I turned up my air conditioner and HAVE to remember to return it to its normal setting before I go to bed.

I did have a successful day out. My free time lately has been spent going to local businesses and asking for silent auction donations. CJ's search and rescue team is having a 55th Anniversary event with a silent auction. We are hoping that this event will cover our fund raising needs for the year. I can only do a few at a time before I hit my "taking to strangers and asking them to give me something of value for free" max. I did get an $80 bike tune-up and a $25 gift cert to the local pizza/pub. Also got leads on a few more. I'll count today in the win column.

Speaking of the team, they are out this evening on an evidence search. I don't know where or what they are looking for (the rumor is that it is a gun). I'm looking forward to whatever story he comes home with.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're watching a collection of 30's cartoons and there were two mice in a toy shop using all the toys to fend off a stray cat.

Me: Oh, they're fighting that kitty off with toy soldiers.
Matilda: And the kitty didn't even do anything! He just tried to eat them!

I have to say it's so cold and foggy in SF right now, that I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt and a flannel shirt over it.

ita, I'm sorry I didn't say anything earlier when I caught up, but your trauma today was really....awful. You got caught in a shit sandwich.

Kat, any possibility of putting a unit in the kids' room? Well, only if they care. Some kids can be weirdly resilient in the face of heat. Or at least not care much. I was not one of those kids (prefer the heat, but if it was dry and I had a fan I could deal. Cold, I was a whiny mess.)

I'd actually take my weather this month and all the sweating I've done over having to wear long sleeves in JULY. That's just wrong.

It is 82 right now. After the sun has gone down. I guess I should be happy we are out of the 100's this week and just in the high 90's. Nope, still melting.

It's beautiful outside here, just being on the 4th floor of a brownstone with one window that opens leads to hot hot heat. Also in the winter, when it was good!

Because books.

Anyone want to be my fan friend mule?

Oh, I'll do it. Heh.

But while we're here, *did* your nipple piercing hurt ... ?

God, I really can't type when I'm tired.

Suzi, I've got you beat last week when it didn't drop below 90 by the time I went to bed at midnight for several nights. But you've got altitude and I have humidity. We don't get much day/night delta.

I was happy that the downstairs only reached 82 on the worst of the days. Bless old houses and modern window ac units. Cause that was just with the 2 upstairs and lots of fans.
