Natter 70: Hookers and Blow
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
They're in this weird place of asking me to know more than the developer, and I don't see how that's vaguely feasible.
If that were feasible why would you need the developer? Sounds crazy-making.
I hope you feel less awful tomorrow.
It was a big deal, both technologically and pop culturally.
Pop culturally it gave us the great song...Telstar! (Margaret Thatcher's favorite song, incidentally.)
There was a '60s cartoon called Frankenstein Junior, about a kid and his giant Frankenstein... robot or something.
There was a scene where the kid was in peril, and he managed to send for help by bouncing the signal from his communicator ring off Telstar. Which cracked me up.

Yup, Frankenstein Jr., paired with The Impossibles (a superhero rock band).
Frankenstein Jr. was a giant robot with an underbite, and a zorro mask. Because...you wouldn't want to be able to guess his secret identity as a mild mannered giant robot with an underbite.
Ooh, look Frankenstein Jr. stained glass.
Did any of y'all you ever see that incredible stained glass in Voluptuous Panic (the book on Weimar Germany)? Just a stunning piece from the '20s of a dominatrix standing over her sub in beautiful detail. So wicked.

Huh. I saw Frankenstein Jr. in syndication, paired with Space Ghost.
Frankenstein Jr. stained glass.
Cool. I'm not sure, but I think I recognize the middle Impossible.
Hec, maybe you know: If Frankenstein Jr. was a robot, why did he look like a Frankenstein's monster, with the ragged clothes and stitched-together body parts? Was he a robot disguised as a Frankenstein's monster made of stitched-together body parts from various dead giants?
Maybe he wore the Zorro mask just to add an additional level of WTF-ness to those trying to figure out his "secret identity."
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Sox!
Happy Belated Birthday sarameg!
