Angel: He is dead. Technically, he's undead. It's a zombie. Connor: What's a zombie? Angel: It's an undead thing. Connor: Like you? Angel: No, zombies are slow-moving, dimwitted things that crave human flesh. Connor: Like you. Angel: No! It's different. Trust me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It is so hot, that someone's iphone refused to work

Oh, hey, I've seen that message.

Ugh, msbelle.

I have managed to misplace one of the parts I ordered to fix my swamp cooler's water connection. I had it in my hand and thought to myself "I don't need to bring this to the hardware store [to get still more parts, natch]", but where did I put it then?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I suggest trolling a sibling in order to lift your spirits. It's doing wonders for me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sorry you've had crappy days, Kat and msbelle.

I mentioned a while back that my lab was shutting down due to various factors. I updated my cv and sent it to the appropriate person in my division, who sent it out. I've had a few interviews since January, and the last one(beginning of June) worked out for me. Upshot is that as of the last week of July I have a new job.

Its going to be a challenge, as my new boss is starting up her first lab, so she'll be relying on me a lot for running things.(Not to mention being the voice of experience. Eep!)

Yay, Sheryl! I hope the challenge turns out to be the good kind.

Found the missing part in a stupid place. Have reassembled the waterline.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I don't want any of the food I have, and I don't want to go out.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I just went out. I don't recommend it.

Freaking dog. (And she's all jumping around in the 102 like "ooh! best idea ever!" And I'm all "you are a crazy person, we are going back inside.") Fortunately opposable thumbs win again.

::sigh::

"I don't think he's looking for the file we already have, since that value is not in it."
"Hey, can you give ita another copy of the file we already have?"

Fucking remarkable that we can't find that value in the file, isn't it? I could not have predicted that would happen...

Yeah, you'll follow up on Monday. I get it.

Could someone explain why I'm suddenly so light-headed? Like, nap in the car before driving home dizzy.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Woohoo, Sheryl! Yay new job.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Sheryl!

So I'm not seeing Magic Mike right now. I was supposed to go with a whole group, and (ironic foreshadowing!) was saying at dinner how people in Boston don't buy the tickets ahead of time, blah blah blah. Needless to say, we got to the theater and it was sold out. So the other person with no ticket and I said we'd buy tickets to Brave and sneak into MM. She bought hers, but Brave was ALSO sold out by the time I got to the machine! So I bought an Avengers ticket... and learned it was playing in a downstairs theater and I couldn't even get to where MM was playing. So I got a refund and came home. Ah well.

So now I'm watching Say Yes To the Dress -- practically the same thing, right?
