Yesterday was hazy as hell and the air smelled icky. I hadn't heard anything about our fires increasing or anything, so it was odd as heck. Turns out it was smoke from fires in Wyoming and Utah. Yeck. I felt dirty just being out in it.

I'm just working partial days today and tomorrow. Now that I have all my stuff under control, I may take a long mid-day break and then check on work in the mid-afternoon. Feels so lazy.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The board's not underground already?! (Seriously, it does feel very private and sheltered to me, although I know it's not.)

Possbily not enough for fugitive hiding at that level. But I think we're up to the challenge!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh- Amy-- I wanted to tell you that Jon Walker is playing at a small venue here in Rochester. I didn't even know he was touring at all!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

FYI, broiling frozen croissants is not the best option.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

In my dream the board did not go underground, posts from msbelle just stopped and there was discussion after weeks of had anyone heard from me and no one had and it went from there. Everything was backchannel and some posts were modified or deleted to shade who I actually knew and who had met me.

OMG! THERE IS WATER FALLING FROM THE SKIES! IT'S THE APOCALYPSE!

Praise be to all gods, the first rain since May.

Turns out it was smoke from fires in Wyoming and Utah. Yeck. I felt dirty just being out in it.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. It's not much rain, but hopefully it well help put some of these out.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck, Tom!

msbelle, Buffistas totally have your back!

You guys, I just put another application in on an apartment, and it seems kind of awesome. Right in the middle of Harvard Square, but second floor in the back, in a building that doesn't take students at all, AND $150/month less than I'm paying now. Please god let me get this place.

Because books.

Jesse, that sounds awesome. All fingers crossed.

Sophia, go see him! I bet it's very mellow and sweet -- that seems to be his thing now, very folky, homey singer-songwriter stuff.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That sounds like it could be an excellent location, Jesse.

Good luck!

And good luck to you, Tom.

Matilda's off to camp. Next week is her last and I'll have to wrangle her through the rest of July. Emmett's got an all-star game tonight, and a tournament (slightly different - and better - team) this weekend. He's getting close to hitting some home runs on the big boy fields.

Oh! And I'm going to Pittsburgh in August for my college roommate's wedding! I couldn't afford to go, but my best man, Alex, (also a friend) is picking up the ticket and we're traveling together. So it's a two-fer in that I get to see Chip and his family, and also hang out with one of my oldest friends.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Fingers crossed, Jesse!
