We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Did we know there's going to be a Joss Whedon action figure? [link]

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

He could be the pit crew for my diecast cars.

Okay, the Science Channel's promo of Question Everything has me questioning why they are using Evanescence music.

I mean, are volcanoes vital for life? Well, they are part of a tectonically alive world so probably yes.

Is there water on Jupiter? Certainly on a few of its moons. Probably yes again.

Could a solar flare destroy the Earth? It could knock out a bunch of electronic things we rely on in the short term. Long term also probably (improbably) yes.

But I have no idea who thought using Evanescence for the commercial was a good idea. I don't have an answer for that.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Ah, Oakland on the Fourth of July, where it does its best to be a stand-in for a city in the middle of a civil war...

thank fuck The New Girl doesn't much care about loud noises outside the house. Inside the house, she'd be startled and upset. Outside, she barely twitches an ear.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Yeah, I think I saw an interview that had clips from that.

Well the firework bans here seem to have been effective. I haven't heard a single boom.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

We had sangria, grilled meats, ice cream Oreo cake, key lime pie, and an amazing argula-peach-red onion-chevre-pistashio salad with a peach balsamic viniaigrette. And guac. And homemade salsa. And Texas caviar,

It was hot, so I slapped on a bra and wore a Liberty of London nightgown. What? It's cute, modest, COOL, and pretty! It was just a few friends and they don't care. And I was COMFORTABLE and cute!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We had some firecrackers making noise in the neighborhood last night, which led to the cat insisting on going back inside. Normally he's pretty chill. I suspect unpleasant things may have happened when he was a stray.

Anyway, I went to a friend's BBQ with amyth yesterday, and that was nice. This Saturday I'll be doing voter registration at a local festival, and the forecast temp just keeps climbing. So I suspect I'll spend Sunday in a dark apartment, drinking fluids until I slosh.
