We had some firecrackers making noise in the neighborhood last night, which led to the cat insisting on going back inside. Normally he's pretty chill. I suspect unpleasant things may have happened when he was a stray.
Anyway, I went to a friend's BBQ with amyth yesterday, and that was nice. This Saturday I'll be doing voter registration at a local festival, and the forecast temp just keeps climbing. So I suspect I'll spend Sunday in a dark apartment, drinking fluids until I slosh.
Last night Gray Cat sprawled on the patio table and watched the fireworks, calm as could be. I haven't seen anything scare him yet. Except plastic bags. But those scare everybody.

Not Toke. She chews on them (but doesn't actually ingest any plastic -- we've checked) and rolls around them like it's the kitty equivalent of satin sheets.
But we've established long ago that that cat ain't right in the head.

I've been camping out in the a/c at a friend's house since Tuesday night.
Back at work today.
My poor kitty has probably spent most of the past several days lounging in the bath tub. That is apparently the coolest place in my apartment.
Any time the 20 oz of coffee I just drank wants to kick in would be JUST SWELL.
I asked my boss for permission to do a thing we're not supposed to do but people do anyway. I said in the first line of my email, "I want to correct this online but the print version already exists". She replied, "go on and do it! But it's not in print, right?" DAMMIT WOMAN. Should I just go on and do it? If she can misread my emails, I can "misread" hers, right? No one will ever even notice! GOD.
So many rockets and explosions right outside my house well past midnight, argh. Still got up at 5:30 to run.
