I like waking up to the Declaration of Independence being read on the radio.

Lolled around in bed until 9, got my swim in. A couple errands to run and then I REALLY ought to clean the yard. Uhg. Hot and sweaty, but I'm getting sick of it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

strix has the right idea. thus far I am no further than making a plan and eating, but it's just 11, so I feel ok about that.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

But I feel like someone telling me that I MUST find transwomen AS A GROUP attractive....no. I don't find most PEOPLE attractive.

Amen. I think everyone deserves common courtesy until they prove otherwise, but I don't owe anyone my attraction. If someone's offended by that, well, going and fucking themselves will handily solve the problem of me not touching them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Heh.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, maybe I was dehydrated yesterday -- I've drunk a gallon of water so far this morning.

Now I have a shiny red manicure and a reasonably clean bathroom.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I slept until 7:30 and then took the dog for a run. So I've done my exercise for the day.

Now I will shower and make a pie crust and put some laundry in the wash, and then head over to my sister's house to babysit my mother make a peach pie with my mom while the rest of the family goes to the As game. They have promised me an As hat, since I've lived here for 14 years and don't have one.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm making too much food to bring to the Balt Symphony Orchestra concert at a park in the County. It's the first time we are using our awesome picnic backpack friends gave us as a wedding gift. It's got tiny salt & pepper shakers!!

I'm making bacony potato salad, deviled eggs, watermelon feta mint salad, tomato/mozzarella on sticks, maybe some watermelon & strawberries on sticks, cherries. And other people are bringing food too.

Also, we are bringing the board game Class Struggle to pass the time.

And lots of sunscreen!

hip deep in pie

So at 10:30 this morning the power went out at work. We were all evacuated from the building, (some weird rule) and then sat around with hourly updates until about an hour ago when we were sent home! Free day! We're on the same grid as the children's hospital across the street, so this never happens. The hospital has back up generators at least, we do not.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I could be working, but I refuse. We're officially closed and I have made myself a solemn promise not to work when the office is closed! (I am a workaholic. I will complain fiercely about how much I have to work (legitimately) but then I sit down and I find myself with the laptop, working, and then it's midnight. I have to stop working so much.)
