Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Just saw a news report that 2.6 million people without power in Maryland, DC, Kentucky, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, and West Virginia.

I have friends up in Dayton who lost power on Friday (June 29) who are being told they won't get power back until July 7. WTF, Dayton Power & LIght?!? (Or whoever the utility provider is.) We're going to be upper 90s all damn week. You have got to be kidding.

I keep feeling like Tim and I totally dodged a bullet.

And the doctor leading round expressed his regret that I'm not getting consistent care, but can't they just write down the dosage somewhere?

Yeah, wouldn't it be a great idea if patients had some sort of file, call it a record, maybe, where their medical information was kept? Maybe I should call the hospital and suggest they start a system of these "medical records."

I'm starting to wonder if, in the doctors' lounge at ita's hospital, there's a sign above the door that says "Try not to fuck things up too badly, but don't beat yourself up if you do."

Art Crawl!!!

Just got extra dark and windy here.

And then my cat knocked her dish off of the kitchen step stool just to make that loud noise.

Compassionately intolerant

People are really pulling together in the 'hood. We are SO fortunate, it only makes sense to reach out.

My buddies brought their fridge stuff over last night...apologizing for contaminating my freezer with meat...no sweat guys, really. It's not like it's bleeding all over the place.

Fortunately, their basement is a chilled 69 degrees without a/c and their cook top is gas. They've used a total of 92 pounds of ice so far. They had to make a shady deal with a neighborhood friend...I'm afraid there won't be any left in the region by this evening.

Thankfully, the storm predicted last night DID pass us by and all we got was some welcome rain.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Kat beat me to it, but ita !, here's Cali's rules on med files. You CAN gain access to them -- just not, ya know, ASAP.

ETA: Also, I know nothing about this, but is there anyway you could have a nurse-practitioner do a home visit to admin the IV drugs? I don't know if it's feasible, legal or if your insurance would cover it, but it seems much more practical.

I am so proud of my husband! He started a Tmblr, and Leverage and SPN fans MUST see some of the pix.

(He totally startled me when I said "You should follow my frien'd ita !'s Tumblr," and he was like, "I already am!"

Thhs latter pix...I'll be in my bunk...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I hope you end up getting the right meds ita, at least after the change over. What a fucking pain in the ass!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Home administration isn't possible because of the dosages involved. I haven't actually had an adverse reaction to the narcotics, but they want to be able to keep a sharp eye on my vitals.

Three weeks ago this doctor was giving me grief. Just now he asked if I wanted my final dose, and if so, now? Because, apparently, I know my body best.

I'm totally not mad at everyone here. But, like the attending opined: consistency, eh?

And thanks you guys for the records info (much thanks to you, Steph-for inventing the concept--it's so crazy it just might work). I will add acquiring those to my task list for the week.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That just kills me. I mean, I'm not surprised if I get inconsistent opinions from medical staff, because I'm not trying to get the same treatment for the same problem every single fucking week! Sheesh.

I went to the beach. It was an excellent call, although the sand was super hot and the water was pretty cold.

Dag, the broker here actually called my last landlord in NYC. And he's an actual person, so he called me to check before giving all my info away. So nice! (I mean, I couldn't give you a person's name at my current landlord if my life depended on it, but as far as I know a single guy about my age owned the building I lived in in Queens.)
