Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I should have maybe been more aggressive about looking at apartments today, since I came home to a letter that my rent is going up $300 as of July. So I guess I'm going to have to move after all! Good times.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

$300 ?!

Yuck, Jessie.

I have GOOD NEWS!!! Not about fire stuff, but regarding K-Bug. She went for a job interview this afternoon and the gal hired her on sight. She will be working part time in an assisted living center doing physical therapy type work. She is so thrilled to finally get a job in her preferred field. She doesn't want to quit Old Navy and the new job has fairly flexible hours (and much better pay). I'm so happy for her.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Ginger,

If I was moving to the Atlanta area, you would be among my first email messages sent! That said, I have no desire to live in Hotlanta. I just can't do it. Some of Beau's people are in Savannah though. I visited one May and nearly died. Y'all know how to do some heat.

Shit.

$300! How can rent go up that much?

Because books.

Go, K-Bug! Very good news!

Jesse, that's insane. How can they possibly justify that?

A girl can dream.

I can't take the summers here anymore either. I think I'm supposed to be in the Pacific Northwest.

I have no lease, so they can do what they want. And I've known for a while that I'm paying well under the market for this place. I've just hoped they didn't notice! But I may be the last person left in an unrenovated place (it's a small building), so that's it. Of course 9/1 is the big moving date here, and I'd really like to avoid it, but may not be able to, so I'd get the joy of paying the higher rent for a month AND moving on the clusterfuck day of all clusterfucks.

Because books.

We got so spoiled when we lived in Yardley -- the guy who owned our house lived in North Carolina, and he couldn't be bothered to do anything to the house, so he never raised our rent the whole eight-plus years we lived there.

Excellent news about your mom, Cash!
