In honor of your birthday, I have taken the day off. Okay, no, but there's almost nothing to do in my office right now, and my boss is in vacation, and I'd much rather take the dog for a run and go shopping at Nordstrom's Rack and maybe bake a pie. So that's what I'm going to do.

OK, OK, there is no actual physical threat. I did suggest to my boss that I would go into a meeting without my usual calm and friendly attitude and open with, "Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH THIS??" But kicking in the knee would be even more satisfying.
