We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My family members, on the other hand, seem to think your 40th is when you're old enough to make people spend hundreds of dollars just showing up to celebrate.

My family does this randomly. But my 40th was me flying down to see family and then managing to get a fantastic picture taken with my niece that made it all worth it. I like my way better. Everyone else expects people to come to them.

Which reminds me that my sister is going to be 40 next year and that's going to be something sucktastic even if nothing is planned yet. If it's better than the experience of my brother's surprise 45th this year, I guess that'll be enough.

None of that was useful, I realize. Lucida Calligraphy will look kinda like a wedding invite.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey tomorrow is Tuesday, which means Daisy is going to be induced.

C'mon out, India!

Ease-ma.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, ~ma to Daisy and India.

All the SO's friends are having their 40ths, as they're a few years younger than him. We came out for one friend's bash, which included people from California and Illinois and us from Arizona coming to Indiana. But that same friend came out for the SO's 40th: to AZ from Indiana, and his 30th: to Indiana from Florida, so we figure he had it coming.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yes, sending good vibes to Daisy, DH, and India.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

That's a lot of travel for milestone birthdays. Too bad, liese, you are in Indy or you could come to mine this month.

Bed is done -- it took 8 hours and 4 people to assemble. Seriously insane. The beds themselves were easy, but the adorable and insane staircase to the top bunk was way more complicated.

My little guys look tiny in big kid beds.

Today we had 3 five-year-olds at home from 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM. They played with all of the things, touched everything, went swimming, made cupcakes, ate cupcakes, watched Charlie and Lola, ate pizza, ate sliders, ate scrambled eggs (not in that order, nor all together.

I am TIRED.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Good luck, Daisy! Come on out, India and meet your folks. They are awesome!

Olivia has never said she hated me. She has, however suggested that she might like to select a new, better mom. I told her, "good luck with that."

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Why, oh why am I awake? Suzi needs sleep.

She has, however suggested that she might like to select a new, better mom.

A friend's daughter used to make statements like this. Then mom told her that Walmart is where you go to pick out your new mom. That ended those threats but ever since, Walmart is referred to as the "New Mommy Store" in their household.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

OMG how did I live this long without the concept of Mall Ninja?

I love that the page had a link explaining "broscience" which is my other new favorite term.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Emeline yells "I hate you!" at Joe and I when she's pissed about something. Usually we say, "Nice try." or "That's ok, I love you." which infuriates her to no end.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Why, oh why am I awake? Suzi needs sleep.

I just have to say how annoyed and also in denial I am about the fact that I'm not a good sleeper anymore. Still nothing close to insomnia, but I used to be a FANTASTIC sleeper! Now I wake up all the damn time! I'm annoyed. And also sleepy.
