Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Huzzah! [link] has propagated at least a bit. It's not ready for prime time since I haven't done any styling, and the collection is sparse, but it's a start.

Thank you Amy, for nudging, and Lee for submitting. Hopefully I can at least got it presentable by Monday.

I just found something that might be interesting to other photographers. Wikipedia has a judging process by which users evaluate and briefly critique photos submitted for two roles, quality images and featured pictures. Here are the criteria for QI: [link] and here is a page of evaluation examples for same: [link] I'd really never given thought to how they illustrate their site, and I love reading photo judging. It's so educational.

Featured pictures: [link] are described thusly:

images that the community has chosen to be highlighted as some of the finest on Commons

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I was at a party yesterday with a guy who had a fantastic beard and fancy mustache. Total hipster-bait, but I enjoyed it! I do not have a picture of him, however.

ION, I know it's easier for the couple if you order off the registry and have it shipped to them, but for an in-town event, it's not bad to bring the gift in person, is it? I'm just thinking about saving the shipping costs...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Apparently a spring upwelling in the ocean has created ideal conditions for krill, anchovies and little squids and now Blue Whales have come to feast at the buffet near the Farallones.

The thinking behind not bringing gifts is that you're not giving them something they're going to have to manage the transport of. Someone's going to have to get the gift home, and the couple may not have been going straight home.

Yeah, I know. Most weddings I've been to have been out of town, so it's a more clear-cut pain in the ass! Anyway, the idea I had won't work, because the baskets they want aren't available in the store, I can't get one and put the little kitchen stuff inside, anyway. Ah well!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Grocery run today. Other than that, nothing. Finally watched my Netflix disk of "Bride and Prejudice". Amusing, even if the male lead was kinda bland.

You know what I need? I mean apart from a registry? A good bed tray. Not that I'd use it in bed, but it would make my habitual eating in front of the TV more civilised and tidy...I don't remember where I got the one I used to have, but it was hella nifty. Good clearance of the nap, easy to get the legs out with one hand, and a decent lip that stopped things from rolling.

Bless this doctor. I told him my dose should be 4mg, not the three he was writing for, and he said that meant no third dose. But when he came by just now he enquired about my pain level and breathing and I think he's going to wore for the third. Which is great, because the second had no palpable effect. He clearly didn't like the idea, but was deferring to my pain and my specialist.

Like this one my friends registered for?

So at least that's done. I love seeing the kind of life people expect to have, via what they've registered for. These folks plan to have a lot of parties, I guess.

I am procrastinating laundry worse that ever, since I have to go to the laundromat. I guess I'll take a shower now and go after that?

Because books.

Oh, I like that bed tray. Hmm.
