On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Walked to and from the movies, which was lovely. I am totally on track to accomplish all of my to-do items today!

I cannot tell you people how pleased I am with my accomplishments thus far this weekend. Not that it's so much, but I am so prone to putting stuff off that I totally could have wasted the first half of my four-day weekend, and I have not.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Spent the morning looking at houses for sale. Thinking about moving. Don't have to move, so can be picky. Want a basement and/or a garage, and maybe an HOA if I can find a good one.

The house next door (attached) is going on the market sometime this summer. My sis and I were thinking about buying it, just because, you know, there's no HOA here anymore and what if it gets bought by someone who doesn't keep it up? Plus we could get a good deal on it and make some rental income. But we already did the landlord thing and didn't like it much. And this morning her BF said, if you don't totally like the place you're living in, why do you want to buy the other half? Just find a place you do like and move. And I thought, the man has sense. So maybe I will.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've been idly house-hunting too. Right now this is my favorite, because of the covered patio in back:

Only problem is it's smack in between two commuter rail stations - if I'm moving out to the suburbs, I really want to be close to the train. But the price and school district are right, and it's just about the perfect size.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's the right town, at any rate.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Got my hair cut and I'm back to having bangs. Have been shifting stuff around the house and pulling things that can go in next weeks garage sale.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

No strawberries at the farmers' market (I knew it was too early), but some delicious farmhouse creamy cheddar with arugula, a loaf of GF pumpkin bread AND GF graham crackers (there are s'mores in my future, oh yes there are!), and frozen quarts of GF soup: asparagus with Meyer lemon and dill, and shrimp etouffee. Nom!

Now is another round of pink on the my newly-bleached streaks, and getting everything ready for my first day of New Job tomorrow.
