Did we know that Google's homepage today is for Alan Turing's 100th birthday? I think we should know this.
Thanks, Cass. So far no homes have been burned so that's good
I've been playing with the Turing machine all day.
Oh how scary, Stephanie!
Stephanie, echoing the others, that's really effing scary, and please stay safe.
Thanks, guys. There are some amazing (but scary) photos at #waldocanyonfire.
Era: the good thing, I think, is that because we are such a big city and so close to the fire, there is some "Navy SEAL of fire response" crew on the ground and running the show now.
There's now a second fire burning. Rumors are its an arsonist setting the fires (there were two or three last week) which is really scary because it is so hot and dry.
So, today I've swept, cleaned off the sofa upholstery, straightened up my living room and bedroom, hung up three loads of laundry, and scrubbed my toilet. As a reward, I just had an unbelievably good 18 oz. ribeye at the steak place next door. (I'd long suspected they'd be delicious based on the kitchen venting, but except when on Atkins there's no way I'd eat at a place whose smallest steak is a pound.)
Around here we don't need arsonists, we've got idiots who go out into the scrub land and target shoot and send sparks into the brush.
