Called home. Mother's going under the knife Monday. Half the island is praying for her, pretty much, and the other half is sciencing, and some are doing both. We also worked out we have a gastroenterologist in the family, so she'll be getting a relative's second opinion.

ita, I'm a freak and enjoy car shopping. If we can find a time I'd be happy to troll through the area CarMax outlets with/for you. Shoot me a target price range if you'd like and I will see what I can find that might be as enjoyable as the beloved 2000 VR6 Jetta.
Because I pinky swore, I'm checking in in the morning. I'm fine. The swelling is almost gone, I feel almost normal. Only problem is, the cut on the back of my head won't stop bleeding. Stupid scalp wounds! Not in a bleed-to-death way, but in a slow-trickle-for-twelve-hours-and-counting way. If I were in the States, I'd have it seen to, but you know, top of a mountain in France, etc. I figure, it's slowed considerably overnight, it has to clot eventually. I think part of the problem is that I started with wet hair, coming out of the hot tub.
It was freaky to wake up to bloody handprints all over the wall of my bedroom. Ack! At least I slept on black towels.
