Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What it says on the tin, right? I think that will be more of what I'm in the mood for.

ION, I totally did a good deed! I put up a note in my building saying I had gotten an extra month, and a neighbor just knocked on my door saying she had never gotten the initial letter! So she had no idea about any of it! OMG.

msbelle, I think you should get a smartphone and read b.org on your five minute walks (walks outdoors are good for you...and so is b.org!)

...I should take a walk outdoors, but that would involve putting real clothes on. Which is one more thing about working from home. The good part is using my own laptop to read the internet whenever I want!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

man, I am so glad this week is over.

ita, I get daily linkedin requests from people who are on linkedin and the requests ask me to join linkedin. It is very irritating.

also ita, I just spoke to a friend of mine who I hadn't spoken to for awhile. She had a 15lb ovarian tumor. Her oncologist thought she was a goner because typically tumors that size in that location are cancerous. Hers miraculously was not. She has lost 33 lbs as a result of the removal of the tumor and recovery/exercise period.

So crossing fingers for benign for your mom!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I just don't understand that bullshit, msbelle. It's a break. What are you going to do, read a book for five minutes. Do they pay by the kB for bandwidth?

Ack, amyth!! As a fellow concussioneuse and witness to many more, sounds like you're doing the right thing. What a shitty thing to happen on vacation, though.

at least so far, this wouldn't even rate in my top five worst head injuries.

Not gonna lie, I barked with laughter at this. Wish I was there to take a round of checking in.

Always Anti-fascist!

Steve jobs seemed like an interesting guy in many ways(Not a god at all...I've read some stuff about him and his daughter Lisa that I didn't love reading, but I hope he made up with her.) I think it's too bad I won't get to talk to him sometime, which is what I would like strangers to feel about my obit too. I don't think about Macs much, but I can respect his more artistic approach to life, and etc. And I love that person as well, but there is definitely a side I love less. And that is the side that would be anti-puppy if everyone else is pro. So like Bourdain not going to the pyramids, although she does not like him either.(Which is funny as she could be a Tony Bourdain genderswap.) The Egyptian pyramids are not just a tourist trap, Tony. Argh! ita, so sorry about all the tough breaks. Good thoughts for your mother, whom I think of when I see a Jamaica commercial. Y'all are funny.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

msbelle, I recommend finding a new hobby to take up the break time that you can't spend on the internet. Do you play a musical instrument? Badly?

Holy shit. That's amazing.

Art Crawl!!!

msbelle - that sucks. Argh.

amyth- yikes! Stay well.

Man, I am tired. Possibly as tired as yesterday but since I didn't go lie down when I first came home I'm not asleep. (I came home, listened to Marketplace and then fell asleep and slept 'til almost 9 pm last night.)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My mom's email got hacked, I got a message from telling me about the wonders of her online part-time job where she earns $6,000 a week.

What should she do? Should I be worried?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jesse,

it was no joke, it pushed her organs out of place! I couldn't believe it.
