Xander: Am I right, Giles? Giles: I'm almost certain you're not. Though, to be fair, I haven't been listening.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Promise? Pinky swear? Even a twitch and you find a doctor (or get someone to find one for you)? And you'll check in here again tomorrow? Please?

I had a whole Hugh Laurie post ready to go, but he seems mighty trivial compared to middle-of-nowhere head injuries.

True, you do have a track record, and I am not a doctor, and you are not alone. Either way, I hope it feels better soon and gives you no more trouble.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Pinky swear. My friends are taking very good care of me, including Calli, so I'm in Buffista hands.

Jesse, IME, they would do a C-T scan, and send me home. I don't think I need a scan, especially since, at least so far, this wouldn't even rate in my top five worst head injuries.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Amyth, you know you, and you know your head. And you're not alone.

I'm good for about a week on the car issue, so that's some breathing room. I just can't foresee having a clear head in that time. Ack. I mean, I need to get the cheque from Geico, clear the car out, find a mechanic, find a car, ack ack ack panic ack.

I talked in my sleep last night. It was really weird, because I could feel myself in this liminal space, and I could tell that I was actually sounding out the words in my dreams. Initially I was reluctant to voice them, but then I just gave in and talked. Strangest lucid dreams I've ever had.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, then I vote no. Stick with your friends and watch out, but really.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We've set up Amyth in a downstairs bedroom and have a checking schedule for the rest of the night set up. We discussed going to a clinic (or the French version), and it's still an option if needed. But the swelling has gone down significantly and it didn't bleed much, for a head wound. It still looks like it hurts like hell, though.

And if I have a seizure or start vomiting or feel out of it or anything, we'll totally go.

That sounds like a plan to me.

I had a migraine. Now I took meds and slept for an hour and a half, so I'm pain-free but loopy and groggy. And I have SO MUCH work to do. ARGH.

But I did finally manage to call my doctor and request a refill/change (my prescription was with a mail order pharmacy, and then my insurance changed and doesn't use that one, and I have been putting it off for weeks, and now I'm running out of everything!) And first I got a recorded "request a refill through your pharmacy and we'll do it thanks!" but when I called again and stayed on the line they were very nice and helpful, so yay. Though I should possibly not celebrate until I actually have the prescriptions.

Why isn't Hugh wearing the white shirt?

Which movie should I see this weekend? Real Steel or Drive? Apparently Real Steel isn't that bad, but it seems to be a movie about the kid more than the dad.

Man, the developer on this one project is still asking me a million questions like I manage him. I need room, bro. Room to breathe.
