"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, right! Doesn't count!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's just that there aren't any women philosophers!

Also, there are no female comedians because women aren't funny.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Wow, really? That wasn’t the case in the public school system in CT (or in my independent school here.) That blows if you actually get called since my experience has been that the judge could care less that I teach.

Usually you get postponed until a school break and then you go. On your time instead of school time.

A woman on my AP Litserv just had a preemie when she was visiting CA so her baby is in the hospital, unexpectedly, in a different state. And she posts asking for help with her AP English Language class. I wrote back to her and said that I can't help with AP Language stuff but I'd ask a colleague, but I'd be happy to lend an ear on baby-in-the-NICU stuff. Poor thing.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh my. Today is really Internet stupidity day, isn't it? I try to keep it light on The Twitter but unfortunately got caught in a tweetback with people who honestly think the U.S. gvnt has cures for both AIDS and cancer but keeps them secret because big pharma makes too much money off of people who suffer from these diseases.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Also there aren't Japanese actors so it's impossible to cast them. Or Navajo ones. There's only Adam Beach, so he has to be all Natives.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

And as Tina Fey said, "I don't like Chinese food. It doesn't mean Chinese food doesn't exist."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I think I have a household interest in that board, Allyson. And maybe so does Hilary Bok, Barbara Herman, and Christine Korsgaard ("she is supreme over all of ethics").

eta:

Sally Haslanger is a big deal
Karen Bennett
Penelope Maddy
Patricia Kitcher
Michelle Kosch

It's Sean Carroll's blog, he reposted someone's effort to parody why philosophy conferences are sausage fests.

Well, the household is reading that now.

Does the household think that an argument based on a bullshit premise is a superdouchey fallacy?

Is Superdouchey Fallacy an official term?
