Hah! Well, to be honest, I never made it to the jury pool. They called one large set of jurors up to the courtroom, had the rest of us wait around for an hour to see if they needed any of us, and then sent us home.

The closest I've gotten to jury duty so far was last year, when I actually made it to voir dire for a local Grand Jury. But they only needed 18 of the 24 of us left in the courtroom, and they didn't call me during the drawing for that, either.

It's just luck, really.

...and now the bus company has announced they're not running buses through downtown this afternoon, so I shall have to hike a bit to catch a bus. Glad I wore a fairly comfortable pair of shoes today...

The ACLU & National Lawyers Guild have filed suit against the Oakland PD and requested a temporary restraining order, based on their indiscriminate & excessive use of force.

I haven't been called to jury duty since I moved to Colorado. I wouldn't mind, really. I know my company pays for my time, I just have to turn over what I get from the court.

Trust my rage

I've never been called but I'm curious to try. Also, I'd love to know what takes preference - jury duty or a hearing (where I'm the attorney).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just made really good brussels sprouts. Go me. Sauce with balsamic vinegar and honey.

Ooh, Dana, those sound good. Did you roast them?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, roasted for twenty minutes, which was possibly a tiny bit too long.

Oof. Ate to much at dinner with my friend. Didn't mean to, but was talking. Also, I've been eating such small meals of late, I think my stomach must have shrunk...

Insurance is switching to an HSA next year, with employer match up to $200, all put on a debit card. Which is good, because I just realized (dumb me) that my stupid FSA has not been automatically reimbursing my dental bills. And of course I don't have the receipts. Need to contact the office to see if they can send me an accounting. Sigh.

Now I think I need to lapse back into a coma.
