Good lord. I just commented to a co-worker on his weight loss. As I said it, I realised that should be off-limits, so I followed up by saying "Oh my god, you're not dying of anything awful, are you?"

Oh, right. I can see that being done on a state by state basis (MA demands the first three days if it goes on that long; afterwards the court reimburses in some capacity).
