I'm bored, so I'm googling my girlfriend. I did not know that she was awarded a fellowship "for Master's thesis research on the history of sodomy in the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic War."

We had the first fire in our fireplace last night, after living here for three years (had to wait until we had the $$ to get the chimney made safe). I pronounce it a huge success--it lead to me getting lucky, which is the whole point of fires, right?

We have a fireplace, but we also have never used it. We need to get it swept and something involving...points? I dunno. I WANT to get it working -- if I don't get jiggy-by-it -- because I grew up with a fireplace and I LOOOOVE them.

I have a gas fireplace, and currently I have the pilot light turned off because otherwise the gas bill is huge. But I think it's getting time to turn it back on...
We had a nice fireplace back in California but kept getting differing information from chimney guys and we just never put the money into it.
Here I have an gas fire that I can just flip on and off. It is nice and warm and very comforting on a cold day. Maybe someday it will help me get lucky.
