Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Birthday Happies, Hil!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Does anyone use stuff like this? That seems more organised than I could ever be. Which means I either need it, or it's a waste of money.

I wish I could be that organized. But I think that level of organization might be pathological.

Happy Birthday, Hil!

Owen and Olivia are playing Portal 2 again and I love to hear them talking about the physics of the game.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just read somewhere that women are as open to one night stands as men are when the guys are perceived as particularly attractive (esp famous) or familiar, because they just don't think strange guys are good in bed. This report of an unpublished report does not go into (what's the opposite of distaff again?) the other angle to ask why men are still more open--do they not associate talent in bed with looks? Do they have lower standards about good looking you have to be to give good head? Or are they not caring if it's going to be any good or not.

I had toast for breakfast, with wedges of unsalted butter on it, since it was too cold to melt properly, and now I'm craving butter summat awful.

I may need more toast. And tea. There should be tea this time.

information libertarian

The study I've seen found that women are open to one-night stands with famous or familiar people because they perceive them as a known risk (and judge them safe). The risk from sex with a stranger is not that the stranger will be bad in bed or ugly; it's that he might harm or kill you.

Men are not worried that a strange woman is likely to try and kill them.

Because books.

There should always be tea with toast. It's a thing.

Happy birthday, Hil!

Do you have a name associated to that study? Let me see if I can find out who was associated with this one.....okay! "University of Michigan psychologist Terri Conley and colleagues" from an unpublished study.

I was having juice with toast! It's perfectly cromulent!

Because books.

I'm so gronky. And I had the worst dream last night. Our baby had died, and I don't know whether it was supposed to be Sara or not, but it was awful. It went through a couple days, too, and I kept being hit in the gut over and over with "the baby is dead". Ugh.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That is distressing.

Matilda woke up crying in the middle of the night because she dreamed a classmate of hers had taken "three of my moneys."

Woke me from a dead sleep.

An hour later she woke me up because she needed a tissue. Again, jolted awake.

Then at 6am she woke me a third time because she'd kicked off her covers and was cold. Bah. Restless sleeping child.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh, Amy, I HATE those kinds of dreams that linger in the psyche and forebrain with a kinda of still-present grief. I"ve had a couple about mom or dad dying. They're AWFUL.

Need to go to grocery store. Got a check in the mail yesterday - WOO! We were scraping the bottom of the barrel. I think I'm going to make chicken noodle soup.

And it's dog-washin' day. ARTHUR, YOU WILL NOT BE STINKY BY THE END OF THE DAY. Enjoy your Corgi reek while it lasts! Corgis have a dense coat and undercoat, and he sheds like hell, and after a month or so between baths, he's kinda stank. No, really stank.

More coffee. Need.

It's a pretty day here. I think I'll walk the dog before the washing, and go to the store, and MAYBE try to hit Kmart and see if I can put some stuff for Xmas on layaway. I don't even know where the closest Kmart is, but I will find out!
