Marco: Do we look reasonable to you? Mal: Well. Looks can be deceiving. Jayne: Not as deceiving as a low down dirty... deceiver.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Guess which area is supposed to get the worst weather in the nation this winter?

Hee! Oh, my poor student! I have a kiddo up there right now doing an discipleship program with my punk/hippie/anarchist Christian buddies. And he doesn't even have a winter coat. I think I need to buy him a winter coat. And maybe knit him a hat.

“To me it’s an archaic kind of Big Brother law that says, ‘We don’t like that activity,’” Workman said. “Well, there is nothing immoral or illegal about that activity. All we really did by passing that law was take away some employment from some little people.” [...]

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Well, there is nothing immoral or illegal about that activity.

Does this guy understand what "illegal" means?

(The rest of the comment is too stupid to even warrant a reply.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Jilli, you must post peektures of your dad dressed up!!

Making me happy today: looks like I've found a place to live after my lease here runs out, if not sooner; I went looking for specific things and purchased only those things; having off on a GORGEOUS day; puttering around a bead store; consuming very very good and authentic pain au chocolat and latte from the French bakery. Can't wait to try the baguette!

I'd like to toss that FL state rep... with a trebuchet.

I will, believe me I will. He was asking me about dying lab coats today, and said he's going for a mad scientist ala Tom Swift and His Electric Grandmother. My Dad is such a geek.

Your dad is a gem. And, possibly, a steampunk convention will be the perfect setting.

Because books.

I think the geekiest we've ever been was when Jake went as Mario and Ben went as Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory. Two of my favorites.

Sara wants to be Cleopatra this year. I think they're on another Egypt unit at school.

Introducing him to other SF geeks with an interest in building improbable and infernal devices? These are his people. Seriously, this is going to make the convention for me.
