I watched "Lars and the Real Girl" this summer.
I could not finish that movie. I felt so badly for Ryan Gosling's character - he was so down in the dumps and perhaps delusional, that I didn't think it was at all funny or entertaining.
20 minutes and I was out.

I don't know the origins, but online you lose the gesture component to it so I'm sure it's even more opaque.

I somehow thought the two thumbs thing had to do with texting, or something. Don't you do that with your thumbs?
I've never understood the two thumbs thing, either, which makes me slightly irritated by it in a I-know-it's-not-logical way.
