I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think it just started this week, Erin, if you can catch a repeat showing you're set. There's one tomorrow morning.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yes. It has been thus since Cain.

Ooooh, I foresee book deal!

...

That hasn't been done yet, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So I am choosing blood over bones?

Creamed spinach.

I just had an AMAZING conversation with my brother, sadly interrupted by his dying phone, alas. But both nephews managed to talk to me for extended periods of time, actually talking! I got to hear all about the Goosebump plotlines from D, share his sorrow over having to put their last cat to sleep (killer: telling him about Pumpkin-"Can you give her to me?" Oh, babe. would if your parents OK'd it, which they have nixed. Sweetie. So sorry.) Even T got on twice to tell me all about camping and his latest adventures, the last session unprompted by his dad ("Gotta tell Aunsaruh NOW DADDY!")

D likes safe scary lit. Will have to investigate.

N'awwwwwwwww...

"Gotta tell Aunsaruh NOW DADDY!"

Ovary-adjacentness all explode from happy now.

I squished my finger. I don't think there will even be a mark tomorrow. This feels like an improvement.

Oh, Amy! Thanks for the reminder. I loved that series.

My SIL is seriously heartbroken after having to euthanize Mommacat. She's swearing off pets for a while after their old dog goes (they've had multiple traumatic losses of pets in the past few years and I do get where she's coming from, though I am obviously not of the same mind. I didn't even wait for one to die!)

I think a new cat would be good for them (D is still mourning Ms.Kitty 3 years along and now Mommacat) but...not my call.

but...not my call.

It's a crazy hard call.

I am going to lose Kittenish first and it feels so wrong. Because she's the one who deserves to be an only cat. It's just not going to happen.

My parents have three dogs again because my sister couldn't deal with having any pets, so they took two of her dogs.

Pets, very complicated.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Our latest book share is Hugo Cabret. It's beautiful to look at and written exactly at Franny's level. She described it the other day, tears running down her face, "this book is creepy and sad and a little bit scary, but it's beautiful." For a book, that's pretty much a home run, right?

Oh on the old cat front, DH is so not ready to lose ours, and both are old. Burrell is downright ancient, and not very healthy to boot. He's saying no more cats, but I'm not OK with that, not after seeing how Franny dotes on them. Still I understand he'll need to take a while.
