Oh, Amy! Thanks for the reminder. I loved that series.
My SIL is seriously heartbroken after having to euthanize Mommacat. She's swearing off pets for a while after their old dog goes (they've had multiple traumatic losses of pets in the past few years and I do get where she's coming from, though I am obviously not of the same mind. I didn't even wait for one to die!)
I think a new cat would be good for them (D is still mourning Ms.Kitty 3 years along and now Mommacat) but...not my call.
but...not my call.
It's a crazy hard call.
I am going to lose Kittenish first and it feels so wrong. Because she's the one who deserves to be an only cat. It's just not going to happen.
My parents have three dogs again because my sister couldn't deal with having any pets, so they took two of her dogs.
Pets, very complicated.
Our latest book share is Hugo Cabret. It's beautiful to look at and written exactly at Franny's level. She described it the other day, tears running down her face, "this book is creepy and sad and a little bit scary, but it's beautiful." For a book, that's pretty much a home run, right?
Oh on the old cat front, DH is so not ready to lose ours, and both are old. Burrell is downright ancient, and not very healthy to boot. He's saying no more cats, but I'm not OK with that, not after seeing how Franny dotes on them. Still I understand he'll need to take a while.
I have kitten longings, but we've got two cats, one blind and one possessive. Mr. Possessive would not want to share.

I've never heard of that book (author?) but it sounds awesome from that description!!
I am a sick sicko. Hacking up my lungs, and lots of sleep. Conveniently, though, no appetite, which is rare for me (oh, how I wish that happened more often). OTOH, it's not like I'm burning many calories by sleeping all day.
I did go meet up with a friend and see "Footloose". Boo--the original is way better, and I say that as someone who dislikes Kevin Bacon. Also, was the girl so annoying in the original? It's been a while, but dang, I saw nothing to like about her, except that she was hot.

Awwww. She'll never forget it.

It's Scorsese's next (3D) film. Trailer here.
ION, Best Breakfast Spots in England. Worth the click-through, it's inspiring.
FYI - on my twitter feed, the people there are saying that they discard their humidifiers every year.
Holy shit, tiny quake just felt in KC!!
