The guy across the hall from me is moving out -- it will be interesting to see what the new building owners do with the place. But also, I hope the building isn't emptying out around me! I think the one woman I talked to was hoping to stay until January, so that would be good.

My building has five units and three of them have turned over in the last month. That's crazy turnover for this building, where we've often had stable residency for five years at a shot. But I've been here for 26 years and my downstairs neighbor Pete has been here for longer than that. So we can't afford to move what with the rent control.
I do think it has something to do with the economy and the tenants are finding cheaper places to go.
Well, we all got notified at the beginning of the month that we had to move by the end of October (8 units, all month-to-month), so while they backed off that, I guess he just went for it.
Jesse, your FB post made me listen to the Bee Gees. All your fault, seriously.
You're welcome!
Apparently, "You Should Be Dancing" is now Sara's favorite song.
What have I done?
I am so lazy that I am sitting here thirsty because I have no fizzed up water.
It has just occurred to me it's the weekend, I could make some Jasmine Pearl green tea. That's marginally less effort than fizzing water (which is OH SO onerous).
What the fuck is up with me? My apartment is never getting tidied, is it?
That's interesting Kat. So one way or another there was bound to be changes. Wonder why they didn't want to go for the grant. But yeah, you'd ROCK the charter proposal, I have no doubt there. I've learned so much about teaching pedagogy just from our casual conversations on the subject. If you DO end up writing one and want a pair of eyes to look things over, I'm offering to beta it for you.
Aww.. [link] UCLA's Med Center's data was stolen.
Crud. Cody says that the info was encrypted, if that helps allay any fears.
Burrell,
the data was encrypted, but the password was on a sheet of paper next to the computer. The sheet of paper was also taken.
