Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am so lazy that I am sitting here thirsty because I have no fizzed up water.

It has just occurred to me it's the weekend, I could make some Jasmine Pearl green tea. That's marginally less effort than fizzing water (which is OH SO onerous).

What the fuck is up with me? My apartment is never getting tidied, is it?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's interesting Kat. So one way or another there was bound to be changes. Wonder why they didn't want to go for the grant. But yeah, you'd ROCK the charter proposal, I have no doubt there. I've learned so much about teaching pedagogy just from our casual conversations on the subject. If you DO end up writing one and want a pair of eyes to look things over, I'm offering to beta it for you.

Aww.. [link] UCLA's Med Center's data was stolen.

Crud. Cody says that the info was encrypted, if that helps allay any fears.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Burrell,

the data was encrypted, but the password was on a sheet of paper next to the computer. The sheet of paper was also taken.

Please tell me someone got, if not fired, seriously disciplined over this.

I admit, I have a postit on my desk with a password on it. But no username, and no indication of which system, and I also changed the password as soon as the Security Fulfillment guy handed it to me. Also, it just says Password1. I just haven't thrown it away because there was all this other white space left on it for me to scribble notes on. So, you know, whatever.

I've had the cup of tea. I'm still really thirsty. Wahh.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My apartment is failing to clean itself. HATE THAT

facebook's sexism problem

I agree entirely with her message. I feel very lucky that I spend my time in female dominated spaces on the internet, and enjoy the privilege that affords me. Even my primary science fiction space, IO9 is female-run, and probably the sanest gender-relations part of the Gawker network.

But she shouldn't shit on her opponents' grammar or spelling when she characterises them as "viscous" at the very start of her piece and goes on to have more typos. Spellcheck wouldn't have caught that, but it should have caught oline, shouldn't it?

Skipping at the other hand of shabbat because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is CaBil's birthday.

Happy birthday, CaBil! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
