A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Good luck Jen!

I was pretty old before I realized that freezing was not the only possible reaction to bees. I was never overly afraid of them, but somehow got convinced that I would accidentally flail into one's way, and that's when I would get stung. So, freeze.

Last time there were bees in the garden, I gave one a pat. Just once, very lightly. He was too busy doing his bee thing with the flowers to care. He was soft and fuzzy!!!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Would you use this payment tool?

No. But I used Square to sell concert tickets from my Android phone and that side of it worked like a dream.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's pretty much a given for medical shows, isn't it? I mean, they're never going to get it right, and eventually they're going to hit something close to home.

I stopped watching Keith Olberman's Countdown when he started talking about his father's slow death. It had been a year since I'd watched my own father die, and I just wasn't up to reliving the experience along with my nightly news.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

the sound you hear is my financial comp-sec husband falling to the floor and shrieking with horror

Why? I haven't seen any objections to it that stood up to examination.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Wow, I forgot how fast this thread moves. Anyhow, since I can't stop the boys in the government from playing with their toys... Well, my MLIS program is for two years. After it, nothing that keeps me here.

I love this place. It's home, for better or worse. But almost nothing but insanity, hatred and fear are driving it.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

I use the Square card reader to take credit cards at the flea market, but that auto-pay service does not appeal.

I spent the morning texting back and forth with Mr. Flowersocks. Apparently he used to dress like a Teddy boy. I may have to encourage him to start again.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yay MLIS program!!! I'm halfway through mine, but since I'm taking mine one class at a time, it'll be four years all told before I'm done, hopefully by the end of 2013. Ours only requires 12 classes in total, so some of the full-timers are pushing it and trying to finish in 12 months (4 classes per semester).
