Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, I purposely avoided those pictures and couldn't read most of the article (over on HuffPo.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck, Jen! I recommend sitting in a real chair, not on the couch or similar.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I've eaten horse. I didn't know it when it was happening, though, and furthermore I didn't roll in its carcass.

I did totally laugh at the zombie thing. I mean, don't take drugs, people. But he's kinda lucky all he got was hit with a pipe wrench. People out here have guns.

Thrive to spite them

The bees on the elementary school sounds cool.

There's an elementary school in Vermont that switched to solar only power. They installed them last year (I think) and when minimal power is running in the summer they bank the electricity to use the school year. The school is also creating classroom assignments around the solar energy use. I don't have access the news article, but some of the teachers said the students were more interested.

and a Congressman (Welch I think) is trying to get a bill passed that would allow Vermont to buy produce from local farmers here in VT rather than spending the money at the Rhode Island distribution center. The idea is to help the economy and local farmers and to get kids healthier, fresher food and hopefully spend less on transportation costs.

Which sounds like no down sides, but there were a few cranky comments in the paper when the article ran.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Interview~ma, Jen!

The Grey's/Private Practice combo generally makes me at least cry a little, between the Alzheimer's in the one and the wanting to have a baby before it's too late in the other.

I never got into Private Practice. The other problem with Grey's Anatomy and the Spina Bifida storyline is the general wrongness of all of it, which makes it hard to watch.
