Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm horribly sad about Steve Jobs. I still have my first apple computer. It's beige and weighs 4000 pounds. If I plug it in, it still works. The gizmodo obit is making me even sadder.

Perkins, if they give you a rock, keep it. Tell them you have bonded with your rock completely and cannot let it go. Do it for me.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

So a question came in last night about one of my projects, but the email was sent to My Nemesis. Who replied to the sender and cc'd my boss.

She had a teleconference this morning about the question, with a Congressional staffer, and during the conversation they asked her questions about other projects and issues that are within my area of expertise.

Did she tell me about the question or invite me to the telecon? No, she did not.

I found the note about the telecon on the office calendar--after it happened--and asked about it. At which point she had the balls to ask me for the information they had asked her for. Instead of giving it to her, I'm going to say that I'm happy to take any calls on the matter.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm really sad about Steve Jobs too. For someone who is a stranger. And really angry about cancer.

Oy, Consuela.

Very sad about Steve Jobs. He was younger than my parents too. Do not like.

One thing making me happy tonight: Our security deposit arrived from Bad Landlord, and it turns out for once his total flakiness works in our favor. When we rented the place and gave him the $1000 for a deposit, the arrangement we agreed to was that $500 of it would be a nonrefundable pet deposit, so I was only expecting to get $500 back. But he must have forgotten, because the check is for the full $1000! It's especially welcome at the moment because we just bought three sets of plane tickets in the last few weeks and our bank account was getting precariously low. So yay for unexpected money!

Between the piece just aired on The Story, and being reminded that my aunt died a little over a year ago...mneh. Gonna give Mister Kitty some extra kibble.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I like Colin. Colin is nice.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Just finished parent-teacher conferences at the high school. All of CJ's teachers adore him. He just needs to be more organized and focused. This is the first year he has actually had to study. He has a couple of classes where his grades need to improve drastically, but otherwise he is doing pretty well.

I like Colin for being there for you.

Because books.

What sara said about Colin, ita, for sure.

All of CJ's teachers adore him.

That's awesome, Suzi. How are you? I'm a little scattered today, but I was thinking about your poor mouth. Be gentle with yourself for a few days.
