Times have changed and parents & kids all seem a lot more fearful now, although I do recall the perpetual urban legend about the apple with the razor blades in it...
The Finnish nanny was telling me this morning at the bus stop that they don't trick or treat in Finland, but on EASTER they dress up as witches (?) and go door to door. They give the homeowners a branch with a paper flower on it, and recite a little poem (the whole thing is for luck), and they get eggs, etc.
The things you learn.

Heh. Reminds me of "spring surprise" in that Monty Python candy sketch.
Was someone here looking for London travel tips?
::raises hand::
My friend Betty is going for work, but has built in some holiday travel and a side trip to Dublin.
Design Sponge just put up a London city guide. I haven't checked out the listings personally (alas), but they might be worth exploring: [link]
Thanks, Calli!
Happy birthday, Ginger! I hope it's pain free and filled with treats.
Oh, man. I suck.
So all last week I had no printer at work - because my cyan toner was out and I didn't have a replacement. I ordered two but thought I had magenta and yellow standing by.
Guess what?
My magenta toner ran out and when I went to grab the replacement it was for my previous printer.
So - another week without a printer. I hope that the new toner gets here superfast.
I have an ear infection. Thankfully, I also now have antibiotics. Bless the Target clinics.
