Because books.

Happy birthday, Ginger!

Fuck the fairy!

I don't know about anyone else, but I heard that in Dean Winchester's voice.

I want to go back to bed so very much.

Happy happies, Ginger!

Mmmm, bed. I could use some sleep right now.

This month is going to be so insanely busy between work and school that I'm going to be desperate for a day off by December 1. I've got three more labs, a library visit that needs to be made and then written up, and then my final project that has to be researched, written, and a presenation put together, all due by November 30th. Gah.

And work is just going to be crazy, even more so because of the holidays and people taking time off. I'm not one of them, so I get to help take up the slack.

My time off will be next summer for the England trip, so I can't complain about being busy for the next two months.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I have got to figure out how to keep the cats from keeping me awake for 1-2 hours every night fighting.

Play with them before going to bed to try to exhaust them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Whew! I just got them to put off the Business Systems Analyst meeting by a week. I had a fear I was supposed to present at it, but it wasn't on my calendar, and a meeting for December is, so I let it slide.

Turns out it was today after all.

Not any more! Now it's next week. I guess it had better be spiffy. But, fuck, all my stats are five years old, and I don't even know if they apply to this business...

I hope they named this dog Linus.

Happy birthday, Ginger!

Was someone here looking for London travel tips? Design Sponge just put up a London city guide. I haven't checked out the listings personally (alas), but they might be worth exploring: [link]

Happy birthday, Ginger!

I had a couple dozen kids, I guess--the best costume was a ten-year-old as a zombie, but there was also a 4-year-old dressed as a flapper. Most of the rest wore commercial costumes: Spiderman, Batman, Batgirl, and one Green Lantern with a blinky light. And several princesses.

I turned out the outside light at 9 pm and took the rest of the candy to work this morning.

I cannot fathom, as a child, passing by a house with the lights on on Halloween. I mean, that's the point. But we ran wild all over the neighborhood when I was a kid, and there always ended up smashed pumpkins in the road, and usually someone's house got TP'd.

Times have changed and parents & kids all seem a lot more fearful now, although I do recall the perpetual urban legend about the apple with the razor blades in it...

The Finnish nanny was telling me this morning at the bus stop that they don't trick or treat in Finland, but on EASTER they dress up as witches (?) and go door to door. They give the homeowners a branch with a paper flower on it, and recite a little poem (the whole thing is for luck), and they get eggs, etc.

The things you learn.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Birthday Happies Ginger!!
