Steph, I can't begin to express how happy I am that you found Tim. Watching your relationship blossom from afar has been a great pleasure
This. Very much this.
Also, very happy for tommyrot and his gf. tommy, I drive to Memphis twice a year (it's a 600 mile drive that takes right at 10 hours). I am always tired the day after and plan on coming back with at least a day before I have to go back to work.
Yeah, in order to efficiently use my vacation time, I'll probably be taking a train or flying down South from now on.
Oh, I forgot to mention--we're planning on taking a train (in a sleeper car) from Los Angeles to Portland next Summer. Should be lots o' fun!
The Coastal Starlight is a good time, that should be a fun trip. It doesn't stop in my town, but it does whistle as it passes through.
Ha! Cute.
Teppy and Burrell's stories are how I hope it goes for me, if togetherness is in my future; thanks for sharing. I haven't read the article yet, thought it's been bookmarked for a few days now.
Tonight's Halloween parade is cancelled due to weather. Boo. Sara's going to be crushed.
JZ, I didn't feel the earthquake, although it woke my sister up. I was already up, and I think I might have been outside putting the garbage to the curb, and didn't notice it. Odd.
Someone brought donuts into the office this morning, so the day is already off to a good start.
And the Occupy protestors built a pyramid/house of card with the pieces of fencing left around City Hall. It's kind of cool.
Yay for donuts, boo for cancelled Halloween parades. No reschedule?
California, stop shaking, I said.
Nope, they don't reschedule it. No idea why.
But there's a thing at church tomorrow night, plus the school parade and party, and then trick or treating Monday night, which is really plenty of Halloween for anyone.
