Zoe: Is there any way I'm gonna get out of this with honor and dignity? Wash: You're pretty much down to ritual suicide, lambie-toes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, then I wouldn't worry about it.

We're supposed to get snow Saturday night, but I don't know if it's coming up the eastern seaboard or from Ontario.

I went out with some old coworkers tonight. We are the strangest group of friends (sort of friends...we only see each other a couple of times a year.) but we're bonded by how much we hated where we worked. It was nice.

It's not from here! We have no precipitation in the forecast.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have graded today! Now I can relax a bit.

Of course right now I'm looking at refi rates. Maybe not the most relaxing activity I could choose.

I don't think it's a national airtime, but I just realized that Being Elmo is on my PBS station right now, on Independent Lens. For anyone who wanted to see it on the teevee.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's on mine, too, so it might be national.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am so sorry about the pain, ita.

Man, I am tired. Just home from work, where I discovered I had three new additional students. Except not really, one starts next week and one the week after.

Then I deposited my measly check from last cycle whereupon I discovered I have not very much money in the checking account, harumph. So I skimped at the grocery, but I had to buy the stuff, because houseguests and the side dishes I'm committed to bringing for Easter. I'll use bouillon instead of making stock, and I bought a teeny bag of not-decaf coffee beans.

I still have the hospitality to buy for the concert's green room, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow and come out of the ticket sales.

Okay, tonight: thaw ground beef and summer sausage. Make trial run Portuguese sweet bread. Brush dog. Assemble blueberry bake from trial run results. Finish guest room & bath. Dishes.

Tomorrow: Launder. Make burger buns. Spaghetti sauce in slow cooker. Clean entry, deck, (sort recycling), living room (make sure to clean burrs off couch), dining room, kitchen. Guests arrive. Grill burgers. Open mic night.

Saturday: Pancakes. Set up venue. Eat spaghetti. Show. Restore venue.

Sunday: Blueberry bake. Bacon apple frittata, which honestly, I should have done a trial run of too. I kinda thought it was a casserole, but no, frittata. I might need to look for another recipe. Church, maybe. Bake sweet bread. Cook garlic rice with pine nuts. Easter dinner.

Monday: Guests depart, school.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Also, Garner's Modern American Usage?

Garner's looks pretty good. Maybe I need to add a copy to the my collection. I have two excellent guides from Merriam-Webster, but they don't seem to be updating them. I also have Fowler's, several editions of Strunk & White, AP Style, Wired Style, MLA Handbook....

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I have had a constant low grade headache all day. The kind that flares when you walk by someone in Starbucks who has bathed in cologne. Or when you bend over to pickup crud one of the kids left on the floor. This needs to be gone by morning. It feels like if it doesn't fade overnight, it is going to rear it's head and turn toward migraine land.

I was married to KCD for over 20 years. He calls today to work out weekend arrangements so that I can "do Easter" with CJ. I don't "do Easter". Never have. My big plans are hitting the $5 movies and then looking for half price chocolate.
