Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm gonna be scared today until I hear back from the doctor. I don't know if I can explain how much a difficult ER visit takes out of me. I don't have that much to give anymore. And I don't know where to get extra.

Upton Tea sure ships fast! I figured if I'm going to keep up even remotely with the tea frenzy I've got going (it's now the simplest drink to make in the kitchen, pretty much), there's no way it can only be Teavana tea. That's just unsupportable. So I bought a couple flavours of Upton. Maybe I just haven't hit the sweet spot yet, but all three of my Teavana teas are way tastier than the stuff from Upton so far (and I know they don't do the jasmine green tea I prefer), but it is nicer than most tea bags, so I'm content. The Rooibos apple is an interesting balance of flavours.

not your mom's socks.

Understood. You are go to a place where they are supposed to help you, and the docs need to do their jobs. Them not doing their jobs and not reading your directive, AND making you feel worse is sheer stupidasswaddery and I am sending lots of ~ma that the good team is on the floor when you go in.

My comment about the pin was WRT you not wanting to lose your job. You are awesome at your job and they recognize this. If they only knew what you were going through in order to be able to do your job, my guess is some of them might also like to join in the ER smackfest. Not suggesting you tell them, btw. More underscoring the fact that you are awesome and hoping that the ER and your regular docs start being so as well.

They're awesome.

They put my name on all the tea. Weird me out, yo.

However, seriously, have you tried Teavana? They're ridiculously priced, but god-damn.

Thanks. I just feel like I'm taking advantage. Stuff is still getting done on time, but...I could do better.

I can't justify paying those prices, and I prefer unflavored, single region teas, so Upton is perfect for me. There are some teas on Teavana that I know are the exact same as on Upton for ½ to ⅓ the price.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got my errands done for the day. Return books to library, get a haircut at Haircuttery, pick up the last of the Agatha nominees I put on hold, go to Target for makeup and accessories, and home.

Because books.

I just feel like I'm taking advantage.

I'm pretty sure your manager and the other team members don't feel that way.

I'm also furious that your migraine doctor hasn't gotten back to you. That's beyond unprofessional at this point, and close to malpractice. This isn't junior high -- he can't just decide he's not talking to you anymore. He has a responsibility and he's not stepping up. I would seriously think about reporting him, wherever you do that.

Makes sense. The stuff of theirs I really like right now--the Jasmine Dragon Pearls make me thirsty, I like it so much. It just creates its own craving in me. I had given up on their Hibiscus Rooibos because I kept brewing it too bitter, and their Oolong Chai, because I was also over-steeping/brewing. But with the controls of the tea maker, they're very precisely balanced, and it's all about the extra flavours. They're really good at blending, and finding notes.

Their catalogue reads like--I have no idea what crack they're on, and I think that's part of my problem with Upton. I can't interpret tea-taster language. At least I get to smell the Teavana stuff before I buy, so it helps me be informed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But I don't have any alternatives! He's my third (no, fourth) migraine specialist, and I've run out of people with a rep that my insurance covers. I don't know who to go to if I don't go to him.

He was decently responsive after I reached out to him directly, but they made it pretty clear that I wasn't supposed to have his email address. His office is hopeless, though. I left messages with them all week, and nothing. But three hours after I emailed him he responded to me saying he'd page the ER head.

I wish *I* could talk to the ER head. We used to work together. She likes me, and was always very nice and understanding when we talked in person, making the transition from professional to doctor/patient relationship as painless as it could be, which is hard. But I never see her anymore, and I have no idea if she's on this magic panel or not.

Still, I'm glad that's who my doc is trying to reach. However, if this doesn't pan out by the time I go in, I am having motherfuckers paged tomorrow mroning. Seriously. I need a break.
