Don't you just love this party? Everything's so fancy, and there's some kind of hot cheese over there.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

did you have an Ipad 2?

Yes

Will they pay the 4g monthly data plan?

No, if we want to use the 4G we have to pay for it ourselves.

The real question is would you have to give it back when you leave the company. If so, hell to the no. If not, much more a better possibility.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

okay, last question: when IT sets it up, what do they do to it? how do they monitor your activity? It isn't that easy to put internet tracking software on an ipad unless they force your hand with a particular browser, but you can just download another.

meara, I'm actually waiting to hear back on that question. If it's company property, then no, I don't want it.

Honestly, LeN, that's a good question - I have no idea. I should just ask the IT guy who's doing it, he'd give me a straight answer. I know they need to record the MAC addresses before they can give them to us, but I think that's it.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

for example, the mobile spy software for the ipad requires the ipad to be jailbroken.

I think you should ask him about whether your activity will be monitored and that you are asking for privacy concerns, not that you plant to do anything illegal on your device.

you also may want to ask if they are installing parental controls to control what you can/cannot install because that would awful.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Awesome, Jilli!

And, uh, my sister might totally be reading this right now.

Wave and say hi.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Shocked and appalled, ita !. Also suspicious. There was a scam wherein a guy would call pretending to do a survey, ask women (among other survey questions) if they were single, and if the answer was yes, he would call back the next night to "thank" them for taking the survey and incidentally, are you home alone tonight?

My old boss had a temp job once cold calling people and asking about their security habits. Did they lock their doors? Windows? Have an alarm system? Oh, what kind? etc. So completely scammy and stalkery. Her employer: the Alexandria, VA, police department.
