Terrible taste: been eating pine nuts lately? Cheap pine nuts can cause a condition called "pine mouth." I had it, and now make pesto with walnuts. Mine only lasted a couple of days.

According to a pasta making class I took, it's pine nuts from China that are prone to that, and you can supposedly tell them because they are more round than the Italian ones.
In practice I have no idea if this is true.
