This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

Would a bit of old fashioned booze work, Tom?

I second the call for codeine cough syrup. It saved me when I had pneumonia. If you can't see a doctor right away, I also suggest trying rubbing Vicks vapor rub on your chest before bed. So sorry you're feeling so awful, Tom. It sounds like you need to see a doctor soon if possible.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I didn't make it all the way through art class today, but it was easier to leave because the regular teacher wasn't there (the one with whom I have an "I'm awesome" and "treat me like I'm special ed" understanding going with), and the sub kinda ignored me, and I'm needy. Also, I felt like crap.

But, I think I finished my drawing, so that's good. And the sub instructor did say "But you went to art school, right?" so that's kinda not sucky, for a comp sci grad to hear. I mean, unless it's from the IT manager. Then it would suck.

(Good god, if I *had* gone to art school, I wouldn't want to imagine the dimensions my current art anxiety block would be--either it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad, or it would be crippling. And, I have my suspicions...)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, armageddon may have arrived. The local news is showing a current temp in Gary, Indiana, of 207 degrees.

(Weatherlady assures us it's a sensor issue, but I am skeptical.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Tom, have you seen a doctor? Because I'm worried, there's been a recurrence of whooping cough around here and the vaccines actually do wear off, so. Three nights of no sleep merits at least prescription cough drugs (and yes, codeine works like a charm) and a doctor checking for pneumonia and other lung irritants.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Definitely go to the doctor, Tom! When I had a bad cold/flu (depending on who you ask), I didn't get codeine, but whatever the stuff was I got, it worked brilliantly as far as sleeping went.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I could call Hubby and plead pathetically for my big strong Hubby to come save me.

Well, I tend to ask Tom for help on stuff I am pretty sure I could take care of myself, because the two of us together tends to be greater than the sum of our parts. However, when I ripped the front bumper off the car the same day Tom's mom died, I dealt with that solo. (If they'd been able to fix it that afternoon, he'd never even known!)
