What a day. K-Bug's bf drove up from NM and arrived around 1:30am. The whole household woke up at 6:00am to get up and set out to be at the karate tournament at 7:00am. K-Bug was chief baby wrangler for the dojo kids. The baby was great, but the 3 year old didn't appreciate being on a short (proverbial) leash. I only competed in one event, sparring, and lost in the first round. I did lose to the gal who ended up winning our division, so I'm not too upset. CJ had a great tournament, second in sparring, second in forms and first in weapons. I, alas, have no pictures from the day. Last event was finished around 5pm. I took the gang out to Red Robin and now we are home watching the World Series.
So. Freakin. Tired.
Good luck with that. I open that stuff, I assume it's a meal.
Ditto. And my cousin just convinced me that the spinach-artichoke dip is actually a reasonable meal! So now I'll buy that.
ita,
there are accupressure wrist bands that are supposed to help with nausea. They helped me with car sickness and air sickness. I think there are those with electric pulses. I thought there was some medical evidence they are supposed to help and not random hoo-ha, but there might be others who chime in here.
mother's little helper: juice box cocktails.
The only reason I'm not eating pub cheese right now is I am out of crackers.
I need to go make frosting for this coconut cake.
I had a nurse call it something like "crazy legs". Not all of them know about this possible side effect, so I have to monitor the order and pacing with which they give it to me in combination with the benadryl. But without it, the very specifically strange side effect is the need to flee.
Huh. I get this with almost all anti-nausea drugs. Bad skin-crawling, hot flushed, OMG-get-me-out-of-here reaction. The worst was the time I’d gone in for fluids because of a bad stomach virus and came close to yanking the IV out of my arm and running screaming out of urgent care. Thankfully, Benedryl calmed the reaction. Thank the gods for Zofran (anti-nausea that I’m not allergic to).
I have pub cheese. This could be dangerous.
I'm watching Addams Family Values, which just got to the point where Wednesday forces herself to smile and all the other Camp Chippewa kids gasp and take an involuntary step backwards.
Ah, we're on the first
Addams Family,
at the seance. Christina Ricci is such a wee little sproggin!
Dear parents-
Please, I beg of you: if we have been in each other's presence for 13 hours already today, and I was driving for 2 hours of that, PLEASE retire to your bedroom early. I need my space.
All told, it was good. They got to market and meet some of my neighbors. Mom spent all her money and had to borrow from me. Then out to visit my cousin and her family in Frederick (7th street entrance, Maria.) Very nice visit, I've always liked this cousin a lot, and I like her husband and kids too. They seem to like me as well. Then drove home, where I picked up my laptop from Apple. I love you, laptop!
Then they didn't go to bed until I mentioned it was 11 (because MK came down and kept trying to herd mom upstairs. He LOVES having someone sleep in that bed, especially since it has gotten cooler.) Mom basically ordered Dad to bed. Look, y'all. You napped in the car, I did not. I.need.to.decompress. And to sleep.
Tomorrow will be another day of stuff: brunch, then visit the Evergreen, I insist on my swim (I feel guilty taking the time from them, but honestly, I'd be a raging bitch otherwise. And they can walk to B&N as they did today, or to the lake or...), then we may go out for dinner. Or maybe I'll invite people over.
Also, the balance is shifting to me becoming a 4 cat household, IF this creature warms up to my guys. My PARENTS keep bringing the kitten up and so she's basically been free to roam whenever we're home. Which has meant Loki is becoming inured to her scariness. He backs off when she hisses, but has shown interest in her, and not in a bad way. MK still doesn't care. Devi hasn't even stalked her once tonight. I....
