Sigh...another year, another tax refund in exactly the same amount as H&R charges to process it.
...what? Either H&R charges way too much, or they didn't get you enough money back.

To e-file online costs $65 for state and federal. The difference between what the feds owe me and what I owe NYS is $62. (Intellectually, I know it's financially better to break even than to get a huge refund, but psychologically, that's 2 hours of my time last night spent on a net loss of $3. Boo!)
I'm pretty sure you can buy TurboTax for less than $65, Jessica. You have kids, FGS. Even if you only got $40 back, that's, like, a week of lunches. Or something. That's just discouraging.
I don't think TurboTax is less than $65 for both Federal and State. It was $50 for me without state (I had to go with Premier since my taxes were complicated this year).
Yeah, that sounds about right, IME. Which is why this year I didn't use them....
Also this weekend I got to listen to John Oliver read an e-mail I wrote.
Yeah, we can't use the free or cheapest version of anything since we're homeowners who itemize with a lot of freelance income.
I still wish I'd got the curls that plagued my sister and father.
I feel they were wasted on Ali, who spent her youth buying relaxers and has no patience, thus just pulls a brush through her hair and makes it frizz. I'm fussy enough to handle the things.
Sigh.
But no, I just got "faintly wavy, way too thick."
Those of you with curls, have you gone conditioner only?
Jess, you could efile directly with the IRS, but it's more of a PITA -- basically it's doing the 1040 yourself with a calculator. At least all of the schedules are there, which is always my downfall?

That's exciting!

No, because I use product in my hair, and conditioner only gets gross after a while. However, I have switched to a non-sulfate shampoo, and certainly a few times a week condition-only. I'd say I use shampoo maybe twice or three times a week, just condition once or twice a week, and the rest just rinse.
