"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yikes, Jess! I just saw the news about the transformer blowing. That's a hell of a lot of smoke. Take care.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Whatever you do, don't watch the end.

Though overall I found the amount of Gyllenhaal skin on display more than excused the crappiness of the movie.

Exciting day at work today, there was a fire at the construction site over the hill from my office and fire trucks came out. Turns out, the construction co., which is clearing land for a fire lookout tower, was burning some cleared brush and lost control of it.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Speaking of odd/disturbing fb posts, in the past two days I have seen pictures of 1) a graphic hand injury (because a friend commented on it, was not anyone I knew) and just now 2) the skinned carcass of a lamb (for a pop-up restaurant thing). I mean, DAMN, people.

AHAHAHA, yeah, I have seen the same pictures. The lamb didn't bother me though. Didn't click to see it bigger, however! The hand injury grossed me out, had to hide it.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I finally made a photo book of pictures from our honeymoon and ordered it! That's only been on my to-do list since, uh, before I got pregnant.

brillig

Fun ways to kill an hour:

Carefully pick up the bead box that got knocked from the desk to land top down on the shag carpeting, so that no more seed beads leak out from the slightly askew lid.

Tiny little spoons work phenomenally well to scoop up beads that are balanced on the top of the carpet fibers. It's like itty bitty bulldozers.

Came home tonight to find Maria on my porch, enjoying the weather! Had a very nice time.

And my eye is good for work tomorrow, which considering the work I have to do.... Now to just not blink wrong again!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I finally made a photo book of pictures from our honeymoon and ordered it! That's only been on my to-do list since, uh, before I got pregnant.

...have been working on that for three years+

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister has sent me an email she got from one of her (female) student plighting her troth to her. It's quite sweet. They'd had "but you know I'm straight right?" conversation, but apparently we're all LIARDS so there's that. Sav has written up a reply. I can't wait to see how far this goes. All the motherfuckers think I'm a Duggar.

Maybe someone already posted this, but just in case Women fighters in reasonable armor tumbler

Also since combat not my area, I'd be curious to hear from various Buffista experts how reasonable this armor is. I mean extremely reasonable compared to chain mail bikinis and such, but what I'm wondering: are they reasonable in that they actually make sense as armor at their tech level?
