Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Spent most of the workday standing at the lab bench, hunched over. Did not help with my shoulder/upper back issues at all. (Tried sitting, but there are no kneeholes so I was hunched even more.)

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

meara, the whole house cut off will usually be on the street side of the house. It can be outside on the house or in a hole with a lid on it. If you have a basement or some kind of utility area, it could be there. It's possible you don't have a cutoff valve with a handle. I don't, which is why I have a special wrench thing for the cutoff by the water meter at the street. It's possible that could be turned with regular pliers, if you can reach it.

I think the water shutoff must be by the street. But plumber is here, seems to have found problem (hope) and its just the hot water.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh jeez, meara! Good luck.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Jesus, Vonnie, I'm glad you and your co-workers are okay. Suzi, glad the surgery went well. meara, glad the plumber is on his way. Good grief, people, stop having stuff happen.

You've probably thought of this, meara, but be sure to ask the plumber about the shutoff so you'll know. The wrench things are pretty cheap.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Damn, it's been quite a day! Glad you are safe, Vonnie! Glad you are not on fire, meara! Yay for the good drugs, Suzi!

Oh, no, I've used up my allotment of exclamation points.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I took the sling off (per instructions) and I can move the arm some. He said I could move as much as tolerated. But am taking it slow. I'm trying to keep of the computer but all bets are off for my iPhone. I have already drug dialed my dad. My brain feels like Swiss cheese.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a really small question, after all of this: Because I am lazy, when Trader Joe's didn't have the baking chocolate I wanted to buy for brownies, I just bought cocoa powder. All of the recipes I'm finding for cocoa powder brownies call for an 8x8 pan. I want to make a 9x13. Can I just double the recipe? OR, should I use a sub I found online of just adding more butter with the cocoa powder, and use a different recipe? (I also want to add choc chips and cherries, but that shouldn't be an issue, right?)

And in patting-myself-on-the-back news, I did remember my reusable bag AND put it back in my purse.

Because books.

Stay off the computer, Suzi! I'm glad you're feeling pretty good.

Also glad meara did not set the house on fire. That was quite a day.

I have hamentaschen dough in the fridge, thanks to Holli, and S. is making shrimp scampi and it smells SO GOOD.
