Yeah, that totally sucks Kat, as everyone says both for your and the kids in the system. And, don't know how many of you are old enough to remember, but thank you Prop 13 and Jarvis/Gann for the gradual destruction of California's school system, and public infrastructure.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kat, I rage on your behalf. I really do.

I had a good day today, and I wish everyone could partake in it, dammit. Good performance review, and my portfolio review got me accepted into the intermediate class instead of the beginners. Teacher says my work is excellent but lacks emotion. Since I knew the latter, but didn't suspect the former, good news, even if he is trying to get my money--since they were getting it either way. Both classes cost the same.

I took one class. It's full of totally weird people--one guy drew the model with a helmet on. I was there. She wasn't wearing a helmet. I feel less odd about giving him fanart in my "portfolio". Here is a photo of my drawing for today. It is NSFW. Boobies and a hint of vulva. Still no emotion. He has his work cut out for him. I hope he wins.

But they look like good people. There were cupcakes, and alcohol is de rigeur, apparently.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

DIDN'T I TELL YOU THIS?!

BTW, re contraception arguments. IN case anyone decides to take someone on again on this, Zasloff at samefacts.com has a fairly succinct argument, if you skip his introduction.

Basically I'd just use points 1-3 and skip his introduction, since if you are already in an argument, you don't need the summary of the argument being rebutted.

Nothing anyone on this board does not already know - just clear succinct phrasing if you need it.

Not enough times.

There's a woman in the corner that brings in pictures of dogs and draws those. It's a figure drawing course, with a live (nude) model every week. She's been doing this at least two years.

I told the teacher I'd like to learn to draw in something other than pencil and he's like "Don't even worry. Emotion first."

Okay, I get it. I am a robot.

Where do people get emotion from in black and white? How do you put that in and still be accurate? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

ita, has your teacher mentioned if he'll have you do gesture drawings rather than long-duration poses (which tend to be very static for the model's comfort) sometimes? That might help with getting more emotion into your drawings by doing something sketchy and not working on details.

I would also recommend buying some charcoal or (even better) vine charcoal to work with. It'll loosen you up a bit just by virtue of its imprecise nature.

Also, I can give you Dad's email. He may still be in touch with some of his ex-coworkers who are still working, if you're interested.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

You have to start signing all your work with "MY FEELS".
